How we took Athedrop from formula to shelf

By Athena Health Technologies · Updated

We tested the ingredient first, had the label reviewed for the Malaysian market, tested the nutrition panel, measured the particles, certified the finished product, and then went on sale. Each step has a dated report on file.

The steps, in order

When Step Report
July 2023 Safety tests on the ingredient: microbes and heavy metals, all within specification Allied Chemists, ACL/PHA-OTH 230761
July 2023 Label review: the Food Safety and Quality Division raised no objection for the local market FSQD letter, July 2023
August 2023 Nutrition panel for the pack, tested by an accredited laboratory Certificate of Analysis, ACL/CMB-FOO-OTH 230602
October 2023 Particle size measured by electron microscope, and permeation in a Franz cell HRTEM/2023/041-R; SIRIM R1034/23/B19/53
November 2023 NANOVerify certification of the finished product NV2022039
Then On sale on Shopee, once every document was in hand

Why this order?

Ingredient safety comes first, because a label review and every later test assume the ingredient is clean. The label review comes before printing, because changing artwork after a review costs time and money. Nutrition testing follows the final recipe, so the panel on the pack matches what is in the bottle. Claim-specific testing, such as particle size, comes last and only if you plan to say something that needs it.

What it means for your product

Your product follows the same path, with us handling each step. Two points we learned on the way:

  • A label review is not a product classification. If your format sits between food and supplement, ask NPRA and FSQD to classify it before you launch. Our guide Does my product need NPRA registration? explains the routes.
  • Any word on your pack needs evidence for your own finished product. Our tests cover Athedrop, not a new formula.
