Particle size by electron microscope
51.78 nmAverage particle size, 30 particles
- Method
- Transmission electron microscopy
- Laboratory
- SERC HRTEM Laboratory
- Issued
- October 2023
- Reference
- HRTEM/2023/041-R
30 particles measured: average 51.78 nm, standard deviation 30.95 nm, process capability (Cpk) 1.18.
How this test works
TEM photographs single particles at very high magnification, so each diameter is measured directly. A good report names the laboratory, the date, the batch and how many particles were counted.

NANOVerify certification
PassedCertification result
- Method
- Review of TEM and Franz cell reports
- Laboratory
- NanoVerify Sdn Bhd
- Issued
- November 2023
- Reference
- NV2022039
Passed, based on electron microscope and Franz cell testing of the finished product.
How this test works
A certification programme that checks a product's nano claim against laboratory test reports.

Pharmacokinetic study in rats
5 minTime to peak blood level, Athemin®
- Method
- Single oral dose, LC-MS/MS over 16 hours
- Laboratory
- Universiti Sains Malaysia
- Issued
- November 2024
- Reference
- Report, November 2024
In a rat study, Athemin® reached a similar peak blood level at a thirty-third of the dose of curcumin extract (USM, 2024). Peak came at the first sample, 5 minutes; none were taken earlier. Total exposure over 16 hours was lower.
How this test works
It measures how much reaches the blood, how fast and for how long. Check the dose each group got, whether it was in animals or people, and which measure is compared: peak, time to peak or total exposure.

Skin permeation in a Franz cell
In vitroSynthetic membrane, not skin
- Method
- Franz diffusion cell
- Laboratory
- SIRIM
- Issued
- October 2023
- Reference
- R1034/23/B19/53
How much curcumin passed through a synthetic membrane over 24 hours.
How this test works
A membrane sits between two chambers, and the test measures what passes through it over time. A screening test for topical products.
-
Heavy metals and microbes
4 of 4Heavy metals within specification
- Method
- Laboratory analysis, plus microbes
- Laboratory
- Allied Chemists
- Issued
- July 2023
- Reference
- ACL/PHA-OTH 230761
Arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, and microbes, all within specification.
How this test works
Routine safety tests showing an ingredient is clean enough to use. Every batch Certificate of Analysis should show them.

- Method
- Certificate of Analysis
- Laboratory
- Allied Chemists
- Issued
- August 2023
- Reference
- ACL/CMB-FOO-OTH 230602
The nutrition information printed on the Athedrop pack.
How this test works
A Certificate of Analysis for the nutrients a food label must declare.
-
FSQD label review
No objectionLabel review result
- Method
- Review under the Food Regulations 1985
- Laboratory
- Food Safety and Quality Division, KKM
- Issued
- July 2023
- Reference
- KKM.600-7/2/1 Jld.475(23)
No objection to the Athedrop label for the local market, under the Food Regulations 1985.
How this test works
FSQD checks that a food label meets the Food Regulations 1985 before sale.
Business partners can request full copies. Laboratory reports are shared in full, as the laboratories require.

A Certificate of Analysis comes with every batch you receive.
Four questions for any supplier
- Is the Certificate of Analysis for my batch, or for a batch?
- Which method measures the curcuminoid content, and can my laboratory repeat it?
- How was particle size measured, by which laboratory, and when?
- If you change a raw material or a process, how will you tell me?
